Holyoke’s junior high football team has grown in numbers this year, fielding a 27-man team for the fall season.
The players will be split into two teams, with Clay Christensen leading as head coach, assisted by Brady Walter.
Players will see their first action of the season Thursday, Aug. 21, when they host Haxtun for a 4 p.m. scrimmage.
Eighth graders include Mauro Morales, Rafael Morales, Cash Adler, Bryan Garcia, Jesus Trejo, Colby Purkeypile, Dalton McMurrin, Jacky Mosqueda, Zach Overton and Trent Huffman.
Seventh-grade players are Andrew Rivera, Xander Speicher, Luis Chafino, Tyson Owens, Remington Hielscher, Mason King, Deacon Dittmer, Slaten Burris, Caleb Deaver, Nain Vasquez, Angel Rojo, Anthony Rojo, Tristen Roll, Blake Mosenteen, Michael Ramos, Seth Watson and Hunter Bergstrom.
