Holyoke performs well at summer swim league championships in Oxford, Nebraska

The summer competitive swim season has ended for the Holyoke Swim Team.

The Plains tsunami West qualifying meet was July 8 in Imperial, Nebraska, with Benkelman, Imperial, Ogallala and Perkins County, Nebraska, as well as Sterling and Wray in attendance.

Holyoke qualified in 59 events for the league championship meet July 15 in Oxford, Nebraska. In all, 31 teams from Nebraska, Colorado and Kansas participated in the meet.

Holyoke won 20 events and was runner-up in eight events.

Taking wins in individual events were Alex Brinkema, 100 long free, 25 butterfly, 50 individual medley; Cambell Kline, 200 long free; Inga Burton, 50 butterfly, 100 freestyle, 100 individual medley; Lyndyn Luedke, 50 freestyle; Link Luedke, 50 freestyle, 25 backstroke, 25 short free; Ridley Brinkema, 100 freestyle, 50 short free; Lakyn Luedke, 25 backstroke, 25 short free; and Rory Sprague, 25 breaststroke. 

Four relays taking wins were 100 medley mixed relay, R. Brinkema, Cambell Kline, Burton and Maggie Kleve; 100 individual medley relay, Lakyn Luedke, Lindyn Lued-ke, Austynn Schlachter and R. Sprague; 100 free mixed relay, Corbin Kline, Lilli Brinkema, Eady Sprague and Rhettly Schlachter; and the 100 free mixed relay, Kleve, Cambell Kline, Anika Wright and R. Brinkema.

Holyoke’s head coach is Aly Brinkema.
