Christian rock concert in Imperial Thursday PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Two Nebraska bands will be featured at a free Christian rock concert in Imperial Thursday evening, July 16. The concert will begin about 7 p.m. at the Chase County Schools auditorium.

Sponsored by Lighthouse Fellowship Church, For the Few of Thedford and Pilot for Kite of Kearney will perform.

Before and after the concert hot dogs and hamburgers will be sold. Also selling will be sodas and snacks before, during and after the show.

Pastor Matt DuPeire said his church is not spearheading Kenosis Effect this summer, as it has in the past. Kenosis Effect was a weekend of concerts and sports for youth and young adults.

He said that instead, Lighthouse Fellowship is offering this concert. It is also “focusing on Club Salah,” a youth center proposed for the old Imperial Hotel on the corner of Fifth and Broadway streets.

Salah means place of rest, according to Pastor DuPeire. He added that fundraisers for the youth center will be conducted in the near future.
