|Comedy takes HHS stage|

Prepare to laugh out loud as Holyoke High School Drama Department takes the stage this weekend for “Just Another High School Play.”
Directed by Eric Conklin, the annual fall play is Friday, Nov. 16 and Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. both nights in the HHS auditorium.
Here is a comedy that covers nearly every angle of a typical high school play with a dose of history and improvisation thrown in for good measure.
A group of actors, who have apparently been abandoned by their drama teacher, have to fend for themselves opening night in front of a live audience. Their teacher has left them hanging because no one has been showing up to rehearsals, and no one is quite sure what they’re supposed to do.
Members of the HHS 2012 fall play cast are pictured from left, front row, Anastasia Conklin, Dani Brandt and Josilyn Lutze; second row, Alexandria McCallum, Alyssa Livermore, Kelsey Kramer and Brittney Prottsman; third row, Elli Ahro, Zach Roll, A.J. Brandt, Jacinda Krueger and Brandon Struckmeyer; and back row, Troy Brown, Ben Martinez, Ryan Parker, Molly Brandt, José Jaquez and Jacob Vasa. Not pictured are Maddie King and Peyton Dittmer.
The student assistant director and the stage manager step in, find a box of scripts, which they pass out to the cast, and try to throw something together.
What follows is a rollicking show full of physical comedy, gags and satirical rewriting of several plays.
Cast members are Molly Brandt as the stage manager; Ben Martinez as the assistant director; Jacob Vasa as Tiny Tim, Marlowe, male Meg and Tom; José Jaquez as Romeo, Scrooge and a male thespian; Brittney Prottsman as Carrie.
Brandon Struckmeyer as the narrator, male Beth and George; Kelsey Kramer as Juliet, a female thespian and the bar keep; Ryan Parker as male Jo and Logan; Zach Roll as Shakespeare, a ghost and male Amy; Jacinda Krueger as Teena and Beth.
Alexandria McCallum as Noel; Josilyn Lutze as Amy and Emily; Maddie King as a grad student; Alyssa Livermore as a puppeteer and Meg; A.J. Brandt as the announcer; Anastasia Conklin as a melodrama extra and Hamlet.
Peyton Dittmer as Jo and plant #3; Elli Ahro as a female lead and plant #2; Dani Brandt as an actress and plant #1; and Troy Brown as a stage hand and Tom Jones.
Helping out with lights are Nick Ortner and Alex Becerra, and the HHS TV production crew will assist with sound.
