Winning both games in the doubleheader at Merino on Monday, April 27 gave the Holyoke Dragon baseball team the #4 seed in the district tournament, which is scheduled to take place on the Holyoke field Friday and Saturday, May 1-2. Holyoke and Merino will kick off the tournament on Friday, May 1 at 1 p.m. At 3:30 p.m., #3 seeded Wray will take on #5 Sedgwick County. On Saturday, May 2, the winner of the Holyoke/Merino game will have to face the #1 seeded Wiggins team in a game slated for 10 a.m. On the other side of the bracket, #2 Akron will take on the victor of the Wray/Sedgwick County match-up at 12:30 p.m. The two winners from Saturday’s games will then advance to the championship game, which is scheduled for 3 p.m. Despite the outcome, both teams will be going to the Regional tournament Saturday, May 9. |
