HHS track ready for League meet Saturday PDF Print E-mail
Written by Darci Tomky

Although track season is winding down, HHS athletes are gearing up for League Track this weekend and State Track the following week.

One of the last regular meets was held Tuesday, May 3 in Yuma, and Holyoke tracksters were looking good as they head into the final stretch of the season.

While several athletes came home with second place honors, the lone Dragon to claim gold on Tuesday was senior Marci Vasa in the triple jump.

Holyoke girls placed fourth with 73 points while the Lady Dragon throwers came in at fourth place with eight points.

In the boys’ competition, HHS finished eighth with 42.5 points.

Although 2A State Track qualifiers will not be determined until after Saturday’s League meet, coach Sandra Rahe expects as many as 15 tracksters to represent Holyoke at this year’s state meet.

The top 18 athletes or relay teams in each event will be state qualifiers—a new rule for this year. Visit athletic.net to track the progress of the HHS track team.
