Holyoke girls' golf team opens season at Burlington Invite PDF Print E-mail
Written by Holyoke Enterprise

Holyoke girls’ golf team traveled to Burlington Friday, April 1 to begin their 2011 spring season.

Out of the six girls, four stepped onto the course for their first-ever tournament action, according to coach Garrett Gordon. Kelsey Kramer, Caity Kramer, Dominique Slack and Makayla Spitz got a look at what the high school competition looks like.

Gordon said he was proud with how the team competed during their first tournament of the year noting there were many players in the field shooting higher scores than all the Holyoke girls.

Spitz finished in a tie for fourth place in the junior varsity competition after carding a 57.

Other Holyoke scores for the day include Briar Bergner 62, Shayna Oosthuysen 64, Caity Kramer 65, Slack 67 and Kelsey Kramer 68.

The team will hit the course in Stratton Thursday, April 7. Tee off is scheduled for 10 a.m.
