HHS swimmers on the Sterling High School girls’ team competed in three duals last week.

Tuesday, Jan. 18, Sterling hosted Scottsbluff, Neb. and Skyline, scoring both varsity and junior varsity duals with each team.

Thursday, Jan. 20, the team traveled to Estes Park for dual competition.

This week’s swimming action includes a dual with Eaton at Sterling Tuesday, Jan. 25 and a dual with Valley at Sterling Thursday, Jan. 27.

In varsity action with Scottsbluff, Amy Krogmeier earned thirds in the 100 free and 100 back and was a member of the third-place 200 medley and 200 free relay teams.

Pam McWilliams finished fourth in the 200 free and 400 free and was on the second-place 400 free relay team.

Additionally, Briar Bergner placed third in the 200 individual medley and fourth in the 100 breast.

Against Skyline, Krogmeier placed third in the 100 free and 100 back and was on the second-place 200 free relay and the third-place 200 medley relay.

McWilliams placed fourth in the 200 free and 400 free and was on the third-place 400 free relay.

And Bergner finished third in the 200 I.M. and fourth in the 100 breast.

Thursday’s varsity dual at Estes Park found Krogmeier earning fourths in the 100 free and 100 back and swimming on the second-place 200 medley relay.

Pamela McWilliams swam her way to second place in the 500 free and fourth in the 200 free, and swam a leg on the third-place 400 free relay.

Malena McWilliams took fourth in the 200 I.M. and was a member of the third-place 200 free relay.

In Tuesday’s J.V. dual with Skyline, Malena McWilliams earned second in 200 I.M. and third in 100 breast.

Brandi Orand took third in the 50 free, fourth in 100 free and was on the first-place 200 free relay.

Competing in the Scottsbluff JV dual Tuesday, Orand finished second in the 50 free and fourth in the 100 free while swimming on the third-place 200 free relay.

McWilliams took thirds in both the 200 I.M. and 100 breast against Scottsbluff jayvees.
