Congressman Cory Gardner (R-CO) received his subcommittee assignments from Congressman Fred Upton, Chairman of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Friday, Jan. 7.
The three subcommittee assignments are as follows: the subcommittee on Energy and Power, on Environment and Economy and on Oversight and Investigations.
“With these subcommittee assignments I will begin working immediately to fight job-killing regulations and overreaching bureaucracy to fulfill my pledge to cut spending and reduce the size of government,” Gardner said.
These three subcommittees have jurisdiction over wide ranging issues, such as national energy policy, energy conservation and oversight of agencies, departments and programs within the jurisdiction of the committee.
“Rep. Cory Gardner brings with him a strong energy and environmental portfolio from his service in the Colorado state legislature,” said Rep. Upton. “He will play a critical role on the Energy, Environment and Oversight subcommittees as we seek to create jobs, fight burdensome government mandates and fortify our nation’s energy security.”
