After installing new warning sirens last week, city officials announced earlier this week that the new system will not meet the needs of the city in their present state. The city will switch back to the old system by the end of the week and will use them until a solution can be found.

Clarence Barth of Holyoke was named Phillips County winner in the 1960 Tekseed Hybrid Company high yield award program, with a yield of 107 bushels of corn per acre on irrigated corn.
