|Chamber Gala schedules Feb. 9|

Rewarding citizens and businesses in Holyoke will highlight the 16th Annual Holyoke Chamber of Commerce Gala. The celebration serves to recognize events and individuals that headlined the 2008 year.
The Gala will be held Monday, Feb. 9 at the Holyoke Vets Club with a social beginning at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. The program will immediately follow the meal.
Reservations must have already been made in order to attend the meal.
Honors will be acknowledged for business of the year, employee of the year, youth of the year and outstanding citizen. According to the Chamber board, the community was able to make nominations for these awards and the Chamber board of directors made the final selection.
The STAR award will also be presented at the Gala. This award honors a chamber member who has contributed significantly to the organization throughout the year.
Chamber board members and officers will also be recognized for their contributions and dedication to the Chamber.
A silent auction will be among the activities planned for the night. To date, various items have been donated for the auction. At press time, donations had been made for the event from Star 92.3, Jack’s Bean Co. Holyoke Booster Club, Holyoke School District, PC Telcom, Heginbotham Library, Bridal Belles, Highland Electric and Seaboard Foods. Those interested in making donations can contact Chamber director Mary Tomky at 854-3517.
Chamber board member Casey Blake will emcee the Gala. The meal is being catered by Holyoke Marketplace with the HHS Service Learning group serving the meal. Seaboard Foods is sponsoring the award plaques and Grainland Coop the door prize.

To develop, advance, promote and encourage the commercial, agricultural, industrial, civic, cultural and general interest of our community and its trade area in northeastern Colorado. This is the year-round goal of the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce.
The 2009 membership drive is underway and the Holyoke Chamber needs support to keep Holyoke thriving. Interested individuals can call Tomky at 854-3517 for membership information.
There is a variety of membership categories in which the community can join the Chamber, including financial institutions, regular business, farmers and ranchers, non-profits, churches, community supporters and youth entrepreneurs.
There is a membership fee designated to each category and Tomky can provide costs for 2009 dues to any interested individual, business or organization.
The Holyoke Chamber of Comerce members work together to build a better community and to build a stronger future for families. There are currently 104 members working together on these principles.
Holyoke Chamber is very involved in sponsorship of community events including: Gala Awards Dinner, Community Night, Consumer/Producers Appreciation Day, Dandelion Daze Car Show, BBQ & Salsa Contest at PC Fair, Culpepper & Merriweather Circus, Spotlight Your Business Program, Country Christmas/Parade of Lights and Lighting Contest.
Other community events the Chamber supports are Phillips County Art Show, Cinco de Mayo, July 4th Events & Fireworks, Relay for Life and Holly Daze Craft Show.
The Chamber also promotes community projects such as Activities Sign, Student of the Month, First Dollar of Profit, Community Calendar, Raffles, Harvest Snack Packs, Holyoke Scrip, Welcome Bags, Operation: PC Cares, Tourism through the Colorado U.S. Route 6 Heritage Corp. and N.E. Colo. Travel Region.
2009 Board of Directors for the Holyoke Chamber of Commerce includes president Casey Blake, first vice-president Michelle Harms, second vice-president Sharon Crist and treasurer Erica Brady.
