Holyoke High School Science Club is looking for people in the community to join them on an educational tour from Athens to Rome May 27-June 4.
So far seven people have signed up for the European trip, according to Tracy Trumper, local science teacher. Five students will make their way to Europe apart from this exciting tour.
Trumper is very excited to make the trip with her science club students and anyone else from the area who is interested. “The goal of the trip is to give as many people as possible the chance to experience something new in a new place,” said Trumper. There is no limit as to how many people can go on the trip, so if interested, contact Trumper.
In the touring package travelers will have the chance to go on seven sightseeing tours led by licensed local guides to Vatican City, Rome, Pumpel, Olympia, Epidaurus, Mycenae and Athens. Tourists on the trip will also get to see main special attractions including St. Peter’s Basilica, Sistine Chapel, the Colosseum, Pompei, Roman Ruins, Olympia site, Olympia Museum and Acropolis.
The trip also has many great accommodations. Included in the tour fees are round trip airfare from Denver to Rome and six nights in hotels with private bathrooms, plus one night ferry accommodations and the rest with cabin accommodations on a cruise excursion.
Also included are both breakfast and dinner daily meals. There will also be a full-time bilingual EF tour director.
EF Tours offers this nine-day tour at a reasonable price. For students, the trip costs $3,208 and adult fees are about $3,543.
The whole cost does not have to be paid at one time, payments can be paid monthly. Travelers may also buy affordable insurance for the trip.
The deadline for booking a spot is Feb. 15. Those who would like to learn more about the trip can give Trumper a call at 854-4047 or at the high school 854-2284. She would be glad to discuss traveling options or answer questions.
This trip will give students and community members of Holyoke a chance to get out of the U.S. and experience a whole new culture.
While touring it will also be possible to meet people from around the United States as they will be put together in touring groups.
