A new sign for the Peerless Center was installed during the twilight hours of Sept. 29, 2000, amidst a large crowd of onlookers. The $33,000 sign was funded through two sizeable grants from the Gates Family Foundation and Helen K. and Arthur E. Johnson Foundation, along with contributions from the local financial institutions and local residents. — The Holyoke Enterprise File Photo
