Young football team preps for season opener in Strasburg this Friday
Ending the 2021 season at Meeker in the first round of playoffs left the Holyoke High School football team wanting more. Now, the Dragons are back and ready for their 2022 season, which kicks off Friday, Aug. 26, in Strasburg.
Dusty Sprague, who has returned as the team’s head coach, acknowledged that the team lost a good group of seniors last year and this year’s team is quite young. Nevertheless, he feels really good about the underclassmen coming in and the team as a whole.
Leading this year’s team are seniors Jadon Frost and Angel Carrasco and juniors Wyatt Sprague, Bryson Dirks, Tyson Mosenteen, Cash Weber and Caden Sporhase.
