Baumgartner, Vieselmeyer named coach and player of the year
After winning the girls basketball state championship earlier this month, it’s a very deserving recognition that Holyoke coach John Baumgartner earned the title of Coach of the Year and Holyoke senior Kristin Vieselmeyer was named Player of the Year in the Colorado 2A division.
The announcement was made Friday, March 25, along with the all-state teams, which are presented by CHSAANow.com, ColoradoPreps.com and MaxPreps. The teams were created following a lengthy process that included nominations from leagues and then a vote of coaches. There were also specific votes for coach and player of the year.
Holyoke seniors Lauren Herman and Vieselmeyer were both named to all-state first team, and senior Elyce Talavera earned all-state second team honors.
