Students of the Month

Students of the Month for September at Holyoke JR/SR High School have been named. They are junior Aaron Sierra, nominated by resource teacher Nancy Miles, and eighth grader Jorge Barajas, nominated by physical education teacher Dani Jablonski.

Sierra’s letter read, “Aaron Sierra is a student with a kind heart. During the Homecoming Olympics, he made a point to make sure all junior students were included in the volleyball tournament. He is kind, helpful and includes all students. The impact actions like this have on other students will last a lifetime.”

The nomination letter for Barajas read, “Jorge Barajas totally deserves student of the month. I notice he does nothing but do his absolute best in my class. He is a great leader, and all of the students want to be on his team or in his group. Other students look up to him. He has the fastest mile time in the whole school (including high school), and even though it’s a hard task, he takes the challenge 100% of the time. This little blurb doesn’t even scrape the surface of Jorge’s personal qualities and characteristics.”
