Spring Fest parade, pep rally and more planned for next week

Since COVID-19 prevented homecoming festivities last fall, Holyoke JR/SR High School is celebrating its Dragon pride with Spring Fest next week. Senior Spring Fest royalty candidates are pictured from left, Aaron Sierra, Amy Mackay, Joe Beckner, Haley Van Overbeke, Austin Durbin and Kylie Purkeypile.

They will be featured in a Spring Fest parade Thursday, April 1, at 2 p.m. Parade entries will line up on Bignel Street at 1:30 p.m. and will travel south on Interocean Avenue. The parade will end at the football field, where community members are invited to a pep rally and the crowning of the Spring Fest king and queen. Community float entry forms must be submitted by Tuesday, March 30. Forms are available at the school office or by emailing Ashley Clayton at claytonas@hcosd.org, and the theme is “Dragon Pride.”

Spring Fest activities will begin with twin day Monday, pajama day Tuesday and tropical/Hawaiian day Wednesday. Students will dress in their class colors for Spring Fest Olympic Games on Thursday morning, and the week’s festivities will end with a dance in the old gym Thursday evening. — The Holyoke Enterprise | Johnson Publications
