Program teaches teens about substance abuse
Holyoke High School freshmen got hands-on education about the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse during a Feb. 6 program put on by Melissa Memorial Hospital Trauma Services.
The Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth Program included classroom time and presentations by local law enforcement, rescue personnel, doctors, nurses, coroner and injury survivors.
“The PARTY program has been a huge success in the past and is a vital component of the growing community effort to reduce death and injury in alcohol-, drug- and risk-related crashes and incidents among our youth,” Ashley Pippitt of Holyoke EMS said.
