Members, volunteers honored at FCCLA recognition program

Last Wednesday, May 10, was a night of celebration, honoring the numerous accomplishments of the Holyoke High School chapter of Family Career and Community Leaders of America throughout the 2016-17 school year.
In the junior high commons area, new officers for the next school year were inducted, a member of the year was selected, friends of FCCLA and chapter parents were thanked, and ROSE award recipients were honored.
Those in attendance also had a glimpse into the busy year the organization had by viewing the chapter in review portfolio, presented by Dominique Penzing and Anna Jelden. The portfolio is a scrapbook documenting chapter activities and the FCCLA goals that they meet. Penzing and Jelden created the book and competed in the Star event at the state competition.
2016-17 chapter president Logan Osborne led the recognition program, along with vice president Brook Prottsman, thanking various individuals and organizations for their support of FCCLA.
Other outgoing officers were secretary Juana Penzing, treasurer Anna Jelden, reporter Daniela Baeza, historian Dominique Penzing, parliamentarian Tyler Lamm, student council representative Austin Herman and district officer America Gonzalez. Lamm also served as the district vice president and parliamentarian.
