Meet the school board candidates
Four candidates are seeking election to three open seats on the Holyoke School District Re-1J Board of Education. All three seats are for four-year terms.
Trampas Hutches
Age: 41
Current employment: President/CEO, Melissa Memorial Hospital.
Education: Associate of Applied Science in radiologic technology, bachelor’s in kinesiology with emphasis in exercise physiology and community health, and Master of Science in health care administration.
Experience on boards/committees: Holyoke Community Child Care Initiative — chair; Colorado Rural Health Center, State Office of Rural Health board member; Colorado Hospital Association Worker’s Compensation Trust board member; Eastern Plains Healthcare Consortium board member; Grand County Rural Health Network board member; Mountain Family Center board member.
Community involvement: Holyoke Community Child Care Initiative, Holyoke High School Booster Club, Holyoke Summer Swim Club, Melissa Memorial Hospital Foundation (Legacy Event, golf tournament, Building New Bridges).
Family: Traeli Hutches, daughter; Jaxson Hutches, son.

Jon Kleve
Age: 38
Current employment: Stay-at-home dad, help on the family farm.
Education: 1997 Holyoke High School graduate; 2001 Bachelor of Science in astronautical engineering, United States Air Force Academy; 2009 graduate, flight safety officers course, USAF Safety Center; 2011 graduate certificate, systems engineering, Colorado State University.
Experience on boards/committees: While in the Air Force, I served on numerous planning committees preparing for exercises and served on and led numerous safety boards investigating flight and ground mishaps.
Community involvement: I’m an active member of my church Knights of Columbus service organization and help my children’s 4-H club.
Family: My wife of 11 years, Amy, is the pharmacist at Melissa Memorial Hospital Hometown Pharmacy. We have five children, three currently attending school: Ellie, 9, fourth grade; Maggie, 7, second grade; Joseph, 5, kindergarten; Harrison, 3; and Andrew, 2.

Sue Razo
Age: 44
Current employment: Full-time Melissa Memorial Hospital-dietary; part-time Cobblestone Inn & Suites.
Education: High school in Lewistown, Illinois; 3 years at Western Illinois University, majoring in ag science.
Experience on boards/committees: Not so much. I usually helped unofficially. I never felt my jobs and schedule would allow for me to give the time needed — until now.
Community involvement: Almost all my community involvement has had to do with my children. 4-H and sports. And of course I work in the community. I shop here, bank here, and my kids go to school here.
Family: Husband, Derek, works for Grassland Homes; daughter, Stefani, 20, works at Regent Park; son, Hunter, 18, joined the Army, currently in Fort Benning, Georgia; daughter, Sarah, 16, sophomore at Holyoke High School.

Patricia M. Wiebers
Age: 62
Current employment: Retired teacher, current substitute teacher.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in education from Chadron State College with a composite endorsement in K-12 music (band, choir and general music); Master of Arts in curriculum from Adams State College; current valid teaching license.
Experience on boards/committees: Presently serve as secretary on the Re-1J Board of Education; also serve on Standards of Excellence and Leadership Team committees as the board of education representative; have served in the past on Phillips County Arts Council, various church committees locally; and also served 10 years as an elder in the Presbyterian Church in Yuma prior to coming to Holyoke.
Community involvement: Actively involved in school-related activities, serve as music director and costume designer for the Re-1J theater department, volunteer at Phillips County Fair yearly helping with open class entries and serving as superintendent/judge of fine arts and arts and crafts entries, substitute pianist at First Baptist Church, current member of PEO.
Family: Husband, Gale; daughters, Faith and Hope; stepsons, Justin and Jay; 8 grandchildren.
I come from a three-generation family of educators: grandmother, mother and father, uncle, brother, nieces and nephews.
