Literary feline greets students for Read Across America

As part of the Read Across America celebration held last week at Holyoke Elementary School, students were met by the Cat in the Hat at a different doorway each morning of the week. Each day had a different theme, and students participated in activities meant to promote and encourage a love of reading. Fifth graders recorded themselves reading Dr. Seuss books for all elementary students to listen to throughout the week, and students and staff participated in dress-up days and a read-in. — The Holyoke Enterprise | Johnson Publications
