HTI offers industry certification opportunities for local students

Holyoke School District could easily have 50-75 students earning industry certifications in this first year with the Homegrown Talent Initiative.

In giving the HTI report at the Jan. 19 school board meeting, Superintendent Kyle Stumpf said he is excited about this opportunity for kids.

Some of the certifications include SafeServe Management, Ducks Unlimited Ecology Conservation, Adobe Photoshop, as well as a number of health-oriented certifications.

HTI submitted its mid-year evaluation Dec. 11 to secure the next round of funding.

Howell/Wold, the construction firm for the district’s Building Excellent Schools Today grant, will be working with two paid summer interns as part of this program.
