Honors and degrees abound at Holyoke FFA banquet

Just about every Holyoke FFA member had a chance to shine at the 2017 FFA banquet and awards program Friday, May 5, including some that have already graduated.
For the first time in eight years, American degree honors, the highest degree a member may earn, will be bestowed on four Holyoke alumni at the national convention in October, including Nicholas Ortner, Josilyn Lutze, Sidney Struckmeyer and Austin Vieselmeyer. All four were present for recognition at the Friday banquet.
At the state convention in June, the top honor of State degree will be conferred to Brendan Mayden, Gunnar Kroeger, Wyatt McCallum and Tyler Camblin. These individuals were honored at the award ceremony as well.
Star chapter awards were presented to Rebecca Owens, Star Chapter Farmer for entrepreneurship; Tyler Camblin, Star Placement for balancing FFA activities, sports, academics and his placement in supervised agricultural experiences; Taylor Hendrix, Star Agribusiness for her SAE selling feed for a wide variety of animals; and Kaylee Camblin, Star Greenhand.
