HHS places 9th at state knowledge bowl

    A team of six Holyoke High School seniors recently traveled to Fort Collins for the Colorado Knowledge Bowl state tournament. Held at Colorado State University on March 12-13, the tournament featured competition for 60 schools ranging from 1A to 5A. Among 2A schools, HHS placed ninth.
    Holyoke’s team included Tyler Lamm, Anna Jelden, Drew Stewart, Jair Jimenez, Jarrett Woodhead and Luke Krogmeier, coached by Amber Schroetlin and assisted by manager Dominique Penzing.
     Peyton won the 2A division championships. Telluride took second, followed by Colorado Springs and Akron. Other 2A teams that qualified for the state competition were Evangelical Christian, Ridgway, Sargent, Rangely, Del Norte, Fowler, Crowley County and Rocky Ford.
