Holyoke Elementary’s kindergarten through third-grade students are excited to be the newest recipients of school Chromebooks. — Johnson Publications
Every student and teacher in Holyoke now has a Chromebook
Thanks to the Heginbotham Trust and the Re-1J Foundation, the school’s goal to provide every student and teacher, K-12, with a Chromebook to use at school came true much sooner than expected, and additional charging/storage carts were added as well. The 1:1 device program, which began in January 2016, first provided Chromebooks to students in grades 5-12. Since then, fourth graders were added, and third-grade students had access at a 2:1 ratio. Now at 1:1 for all grades, the district has a total of 653 Chromebooks. While elementary students don’t take their Chromebooks home at night like the JR/SR high students do, they utilize them within the classroom daily.
