Holyoke High School senior Tyler Camblin is one of just two students in the state to receive the full-ride Colorado Garden Foundation Scholarship.

This in-state scholarship for graduates pursuing horticulture-related degrees includes tuition, fees, room and board and all required books for the four years. In addition, recipients will be given a laptop computer and printer at the start of their freshman year.

Camblin, son of Kris and Marla Camblin, has grown up in agriculture and has an obvious passion for it. He plans to pursue a double major in agriculture business and soil and crop science at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

“There are no words to express how happy I am to get this scholarship,” said Camblin. “It’s helping me achieve a lifelong goal of going to CSU — where my mom went, my aunt went and my uncle went.”

After submitting an application, the CGF committee traveled to Holyoke to interview Camblin, and he then traveled to Denver as a finalist for a second interview.

Scholastic ability, character and work-related experience were all factors in the selection of recipients. Funds are generated by the Colorado Garden and Home Show and the Colorado Fall Home Show.
