Bands perform on Holyoke stage for first time in over a year

In a spring concert Thursday, May 6, Holyoke band members in grades 5-12 performed on the Holyoke stage for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic hit last spring.

The bands were under the direction of Aaron Cottam.

The fifth graders kicked off the evening with “Merrily We Roll Along,” “Go Tell Aunt Rhody,” “Lightly Row” and “Twinkling Stars.”

The sixth grade band performed “Turn the Volume Down,” “A Tisket, a Tasket,” “Theme and Variations on Black Sheep” and “Shine.”

Selections by the junior high musicians included “Rattle Snakes,” “Fire Dance” and “Above and Beyond.”

The high school band entertained the audience with “Tales of Sea and Sail,” “Afterburn,” “Antigua” and “Fantasy on Scarborough Fair.”
