Academics rewarded at JR/SR high program Monday

Academic achievement was applauded Monday, May 3, when students in Holyoke JR/SR High were recognized for excellence in the classroom during the 2020-21 school year.

National Honor Society members hosted and conducted the ceremony in the HHS auditorium.

NHS president Joey Beckner welcomed those attending, and chapter members opened the program by introducing staff members with a brief bio for each of them.

Senior Kylie Purkeypile was recognized with the National Choral Award by vocal music instructor Marcia Dalton.

Amy Mackay was honored by Holyoke Chapter BM P.E.O. representatives Sandy Triplette and Kimberlee Bennett when they announced she was the recipient of the P.E.O. STAR scholarship.
