‘Blast from the Past’ looks back to preschool in the 1990s

Originally scheduled a year ago, Dragon’s Wagon Preschool students were excited to be able to return to the stage to present “Blast from the Past” in their year-end program Thursday, May 13, at the Phillips County Event Center.

Director Marcia Walter finishes her 31st year with the preschool this year. As part of a 30-year celebration, plans for “Blast from the Past” began last year.

Finally able to pull it off, the program featured songs and finger plays that had been presented by preschool students in the 1990s and early 2000s.

Still adhering to some minimal gathering standards due to COVID-19 restrictions, the program was presented in two separate parts, with the spaghetti supper served in drive-thru style.

Following the performance by the younger students, those preschoolers who will be going on to kindergarten were able to have two guests join them for the spaghetti supper in Heginbotham Hall.

The soon-to-be preschool graduates then took the stage for their portion of the program, followed by the official graduation ceremony in which they were presented diplomas.
