Letters to the Editor
Colorado is an awesome place to live, work and raise a family. But with housing prices in places as high as our peaks, finding an affordable home for too many Coloradans is becoming too difficult.
Here in the Northeast Plains, the lack of housing has made it difficult to recruit nurses, firefighters and teachers – and for those that are here, the afford ability to live in the communities they serve is a barrier. That’s just not right and is why we support Prop 123 on the ballot this fall. Prop 123 would make housing more affordable by providing down payment assistance for first-time homebuyers, lowering rent and building more affordable housing across Colorado. It’s designed so that each town and city in Colorado can use the resources to address the housing issue in a manner best for them. And it does so without raising taxes.
We encourage everyone to check out the website, https://yeson123co.com/, to learn more. There are many important issues on the ballot, but Prop 123 might be the one that will make the most difference, addressing a compelling need in our community.
