Every resident of Eastern Colorado benefits from the legacy and planning of previous generations. The Eastern Colorado Community Fund exists to promote and secure a charitable legacy for our region.
A few months ago, I introduced a Donor Advised fund — an easy, flexible tool for accomplishing your philanthropic goals during your life. But what about leaving an impact after your lifetime? A legacy gift is a donation that will benefit charitable projects beyond your lifetime.
The simplest way to make a lasting gift to your community is to include charitable giving in your will. This allows you to designate a gift or portion of your estate to a fund under the umbrella of the ECCF and, in some cases, receive a substantial reduction in federal gift and estate taxes.
Simply document for our staff which charitable projects you’d like to support, and name the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado as a beneficiary in your will. Such gifts enable you to make significant contributions that may not have been possible during your lifetime.
