I look forward to CW channel’s DC TV show crossover event every year. I’ve been a fan of “Arrow” since my best friend bought me the season one DVD. With each new show’s introduction starting with the Flash being introduced on “Arrow,” then “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” spinning off from that AND “Supergirl” moving to the CW from CBS, I’ve been watching the entire lineup with varying degrees of success and regularity, with “The Flash” being the most constant.
Leading up to the crossover, the trailers had me hooked. Nazis on a parallel Earth?! Evil Oliver Queen and Supergirl?! Yowsa, I’m in! And thanks to the CW app (free on Roku and on mobile devices), I was able to watch the four part event back to back to back (to back). And while it’s not for young kids, it was a heck of a ride for any comic book nerd!
We begin at the long-awaited wedding day of Barry Allen (aka the Flash) and Iris West. Kara Danvers (Supergirl) and her sister Alex are having a rough time on Earth-38 with Kara recently learning that her late-boyfriend Mon-El is alive and also married (it’s complicated) and Alex recently split up with her fiance Maggie. Needless to say, they need a vacation. Oliver Queen (The Green Arrow) and Felicity Smoak (Overwatch) will also be attending, though they have their own relationship issues at the moment, namely he wants to marry her again (another long story) and she’s not ready. Also attending are members of the Legends team Sarah Lance (White Canary), Jefferson Jackson and Martin Stein (Firestorm) and Mick Rory (Heat Wave).
