Lyle Lundgren

    Lyle Samuel Lundgren was born June 15, 1938, to Carl Lundgren and Ellen Marie (Wengert) Lundgren in Haxtun. He died Dec. 16, 2017, at his home in Haxtun at 79 years of age.
    Lyle graduated from Haxtun High School with the class of 1956. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Lyle protected the Berlin Wall in Germany as it was being built.
    He was married June 19, 1966, in Dailey.
    Lyle was self-employed as a farmer, along with having his own custom harvest crew. His harvest crews covered a large area all the way from Texas to Montana. He operated the harvest crews for over 20 years from 1971 until 1992. In 2012 he retired from farming.
    Lyle loved his farming operation, along with woodworking and rodeos, and he competed in the bareback horse riding competitions and enjoyed the local fairs.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ellen Marie; daughter, Amy Lee; and two brothers, Melvin Lundgren and Harold Lundgren.
    Lyle is survived by his two sons, Justin Lundgren of Haxtun and Eric Lundgren of Evergreen; one daughter, Kelly Harms of Yuma; six grandchildren; four nephews and one niece; and many other relatives and friends.
    The funeral service was held Dec. 22 at the United Methodist Church in Haxtun, with Pastor Jeri Soens officiating. Interment followed at the Haxtun Cemetery.
    Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
