Lawana was a member of Rainbow Girls, VFW Auxiliary, and Business and Professional Women, and she was also co-chairman and treasurer of the Holyoke Alumni Association.
Lawana enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping, traveling with Slim and other family members, cooking, baking and especially making homemade noodles with her grandchildren. She also liked doing needlework crafts.
