    Jeffrey Michael Hickox, of Haxtun, was born April 20, 1983, to Charlie Hickox and Lynn (Olive) Fontana in Colorado Springs. He died Sept. 28, 2018, in Denver.
    Jeff attended Palmer High School and received a Bachelor of Environmental Science degree at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.
    He married Christine Lee (Cowne) on June 9, 2013, in Manitou Springs.
    Jeff worked for the Colorado Parks and Wildlife service along with Pioneer Construction from 2012 until 2014 and had been working as a deputy for the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office since July 2014.
    Jeff loved the outdoors, gaming and their dog, Abby.
    Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Lynn (Olive) Fontana.
    He will be greatly missed by his wife, Christine Hickox of Haxtun; brother, Chuck Hickox of Orlando, Florida; sister, Laurie Katsumoto of Colorado Springs; father, Charlie Hickox of Colorado Springs; half brothers, Dylan Hickox and Cody Hickox; half sister, K.C. Hickox; grandmother, Mary Potter of Vancouver, Washington; and stepfather, Nick Fontana of Colorado Springs.
    The memorial service was held Oct. 5 at Prairie Home Baptist Church in Haxtun, with Pastor Kristie Firme officiating.
    Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
