‘Unexpected Wonders’ exhibit heading to The Orphanage on April 22

Kirk photographer Christi Herrick is the next artist to display at The Orphanage in Yuma. Her show is titled “Unexpected Wonders” and will feature photographs of eastern Colorado landscapes.

Herrick grew up in eastern Colorado, where the farmland and pastures were just beyond the end of her sidewalk, and has lived here for most of her life. She remembers finding inspiration in color, texture and patterns; and enjoying art classes at Kit Carson and Liberty Schools, drawing classes at Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas and, later, art training through correspondence courses. She was inspired by teachers along the way, by those who shared their creativity and art, and she continues to be inspired by the world around her, capturing moments of unexpected wonder.
