School begins holiday break this week

Students in Holyoke School District Re-1J will begin their holiday break after morning classes on Thursday, Dec. 15. Teachers will hold an inservice on Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, and students will resume class on Tuesday, Jan. 3.

“A Healthier Weigh” to begin in January

Phillips County CSU Extension is set to begin the 12-week “A Healthier Weigh” program in January. Weigh-in will be held Jan. 5 in Haxtun and Jan. 6 in Holyoke, with the program beginning Monday, Jan. 9. Master Irrigator program to be held in January

The Republican River Basin is hosting the third annual Master Irrigator program Wednesday, Jan. 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2023, at Phillips County Event Center. To register, visit www.comasterirrigator.org. Space is limited. 

Chamber social postponed until Dec. 20

Due to inclement weather, the Chamber Holiday Social originally scheduled for Dec. 13 will be postponed until Tuesday, Dec. 20, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Holyoke Vets Club. 

Holiday shipping deadlines quickly approaching

To ensure packages arrive in time for Christmas, there are some shipping deadlines to keep in mind.

USPS Ground needs to go out Dec. 17, and the deadline for Priority Mail Express is Dec. 23. UPS 3 Day Select needs to be mailed Dec. 20, while Next Day Air Services can be mailed Dec. 22. FedEx Ground should be mailed out by Dec. 14, while the cutoff for FedEx Same Day is Dec. 23.
