Penzing, Talavera earn all-conference
Holyoke volleyball players Tamara Penzing and Audrey Talavera have been named to the Lower Platte All-Conference volleyball team.
Penzing, a senior libero, led Holyoke in digs and serve receives, and also led the conference in digs.
Talavera, a junior, was first for the Dragons in kills, aces and assists, and second in digs. Those numbers translated well to the Lower Platte Conference, where Talavera was second in aces and digs, fifth in assists, and sixth in kills.
Conference champion Wiggins and runner-up Merino each had four all-conference and one honorable mention player.
The conference will return a ton of talent next year after only five seniors, three all-conference and two honorable mention, were included on this year’s lists of 20 athletes.
