Softball team goes 2-2 at tourney
The Holyoke High School softball team started off its season with two wins and two losses at a Platte Valley tournament in Kersey last weekend.
“Overall the weekend went well. For the first games of the season, I am proud of how well they played together, cleaned up their mistakes and improved each game,” said coach Kendra Schlachter.
In the first game Friday, Aug. 19, the Lady Dragons faced a strong, experienced pitcher from The Academy and lost 1-12.
Also on Friday, Holyoke lost to Platte Valley 3-7. “Platte Valley was a well-rounded team, and we competed for a while but couldn’t hang with them,” said Schlachter.
