Centennial Mental Health Center’s board of directors is embarking on a search for the next leader of its organization as Dr. Elizabeth Hickman has announced her plans for retirement in September 2022. Hickman has shepherded Centennial as its executive director since 2008, after she transitioned from her previous role as the staff psychologist.

Since 1979, Centennial Mental Health Center has provided comprehensive behavioral health services to the 10 northeast rural and frontier counties of Colorado, and it was a natural landing spot when Hickman decided to return to Yuma in 2001 and raise her family in her hometown.

She brought to Centennial her ongoing commitment to children, families and all those in need of behavioral health support, and becoming the executive director of Centennial gave her an opportunity to have an even broader influence on clients, the organization and local communities.
