PC Telcom sees record growth for new broadband or internet services

At its board of directors meeting in January, PC Telcom decided to cancel the 2021 annual meeting due to ongoing health-related concerns and potential capacity restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like last year, an annual report was provided to its members in a packet through the mail.

“Like the rest of the world, 2020 created challenges for PC Telcom primarily due to complications associated with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Vince Kropp, chief executive officer and general manager in a letter to members. He added that public access to PC Telcom’s business office was restricted most of the year to help maintain safety for their customers, members and employees.

With restrictions placed on in-person interactions last year, the prospect of remote learning in local schools and a number of employees at businesses working remotely, the demand for robust internet connections became increasingly important. This translated into record growth for new broadband or internet services.

“PC Telcom’s technicians and staff did a great job of taking orders for new services, connecting new services, handling service calls, and all of the activities that were necessary to ‘keep the lights on’ during a challenging year,” Kropp acknowledged. “A well-deserved thanks goes out to our employees here at PC Telcom.”
