CTE Day of Service grows character for HHS students

HHS CTE students help community

Members of Holyoke JR/SR High School’s Career and Technical Education groups FBLA, FCCLA and FFA turned out in droves for community service projects for their CTE Day of Service on Wednesday, April 21.

In a normal year, FFA and FCCLA host a service sale in which funds are donated for conferences in exchange for eight hours of service. With fewer conference expenses and with the knowledge that individuals and businesses may have struggled this year, all three CTE groups joined forces for a free day of service.

A total of 14 groups of about six students each helped carry out over 30 service projects throughout the community. Each group had a project in the morning and a project in the afternoon.
