Lighting replacement complete in school’s energy performance project
All lights in Holyoke School District, except those in areas that will be worked on through the Building Excellent Schools Today project, have been replaced by Schneider Electric in the district’s energy performance project.
Superintendent Kyle Stumpf gave an update at the March 4 Board of Education meeting. He noted that the lighting in the JR/SR high entryway, high school locker rooms and JR/SR high administrative office area will be updated in the BEST remodeling project.
He said the lights at Holyoke Elementary were to be completed the night of the board meeting.
Stumpf cited one difference in controls in that lights have to actually be turned on by a push-button as opposed to coming on automatically when someone enters a room. They turn off automatically after a certain period of time with no one in the room.
