Students of the month

Students of the Month for October at Holyoke JR/SR High School have been named. They are freshman Hannah Lindholm, nominated by science teacher Amanda Brown, and eighth grader Layna Wear, nominated by math teacher Cristine Mallari.

The nomination letter for Lindholm read, “Hannah is diligent and conscientious with her assignments — even with assignments that don’t come easy to her. She is willing to ask questions when she needs assistance and has an amazing work ethic. I have also noticed that she has been tirelessly helping a classmate with his mobility needs throughout the school day. I am honored to nominate Hannah L.”

Wear’s letter read, “Layna exudes RISE behavior both in and out of the four walls of the classroom. She is respectful of her classmates and peers. While she is not the most outspoken in class, it is always easy to see how empathetic she is towards her classmates and teachers. When we do social-emotional learning activities, in Seminar, her thoughts are kind and humble. She also doesn’t settle for less and always gives 100% in every task given.”
