At a special meeting of the East Phillips County Hospital District board of directors Tuesday, Aug. 18, a new nurse call system was approved for purchase.
Melissa Memorial Hospital CEO Cathy Harshbarger said the system from IDeACOM costs $133,499, which includes new wiring, but the board approved a purchase of up to $140,000. COVID-19 relief funds will be used if possible.
Harshbarger reported that nurse call systems from other companies have a much higher price point, and this is the brand used by some of the other small facilities in the area.
