Hottest truck in town delivers cool treats this summer

If you’re in Holyoke this summer and you hear the happy sounds of an ice cream truck beckoning you to enjoy its treats, you might ask yourself who is behind this nostalgic summer tradition. None other than your friendly neighborhood chamber of commerce! Holly Ferguson, at left, and McKenna Heldenbrand with the Holyoke chamber showed off the truck at the chamber’s first Root Beer Float Monday business spotlight at Holyoke City Park on Monday, June 29. Ferguson, the chamber’s director, said grant money helped purchase the truck, and funds raised will help the chamber to continue to offer programs for the community. For now, the truck is called Lickety Split, but in the future, Ferguson hopes to brand it with logos from all the chamber members. Locals can expect to see the ice cream truck around town most weekends throughout the summer as well as at county events. — The Holyoke Enterprise | Johnson Publications
