FCCLA chapter recognizes member accomplishments in virtual program

Though they couldn’t gather in person, Holyoke FCCLA members and their supporters did “meet up” online for the May 4 premier of the 2020 virtual member recognition program.

Chapter adviser Karen Ortner was proud to recognize all the lives touched, causes championed and skills gained by the 2019-20 members. Although the ongoing coronavirus pandemic put a halt to many planned events — including the state leadership conference — it also provided an opportunity for the service-minded organization to shine, Ortner said.

In Monday night’s recognition program, 17 members were applauded for their efforts in the chapter, the school and the community.

Selected as member of the year was Amy Mackay. Lauren Bergner and Brenna Gatton were recognized as four-year members of the organization.

Selected by the family and consumer science advisory team, the Holyoke FCCLA Leadership Scholarship was awarded to Bergner, and Senior ROSE Award Scholarships to Tayler Hale and Lali Marquez.

Charlee Kleve was honored as this year’s Friend of FCCLA. Members also recognized chapter parents Gloria Bergner, Ian and Emma Mackay, Cindy Porter, and Randy and Jackie Hale.
