Kacee Blomme, age 43, died Jan. 29, 2019, in the care of the amazing staff of the CHI Bergan hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. She was born Dec. 19, 1975, in Holyoke and is the beloved daughter of Harold and Carole Blomme of Holyoke and the loved sister of Kevin, Keith, Kerry, Kraig and Kelly and the auntie to many nieces and nephews.
Kacee attended Holyoke schools and graduated with the Class of 1994. After high school, she attended Northeastern Junior College and graduated with an associate degree.
She worked as a grain merchandiser at the Holyoke elevator for four or five years. She then went to Texas, where she worked in a packing plant. She returned to Colorado for a while, encountering poor health issues, later going to Nebraska. However, she never became a Cornhusker fan.
While in North Platte, Nebraska, Kacee, along with Paws for Positive Partners, opened and operated a pet food pantry.
She loved to tie blankets, gifting her nieces and nephews and many babies with them. Other favorite pastimes were beading beautiful bracelets and writing poetry.
Kacee loved family gatherings and being with nieces and nephews. In Texas, she passed an orphanage driving to work. This saddened her, so she did a Christmas drive for toys for the children. She received so many toy donations, they were able to send some of them to second and third orphanages. She was very honored by the success of the toy drive.
She was a big supporter of 4-H all of her life. She completed numerous projects along with the book. One year she had 12 projects, and no one has done that many since. In later years, her résumés for jobs and interviews were good and her bosses were amazed with her ability to organize and finish her work.
Kacee will be remembered for her immense love for animals and passion for cats. She devoted the last five years of her life to cats by opening her home and arms to them. Her love for animals started by growing up on the farm south of Holyoke, raising rabbits, chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, pigs and cows. She is remembered for her loving smile, infectious laugh and warm heart.
She is survived by her parents, Harold and Carole Bloome; brothers, Kevin, Kerry, Kraig and Kelly; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Keith.
The rosary was held Feb. 3 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke. The funeral service was held Feb. 4 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father Jerry Rohr officiating. Interment followed at the Holyoke Cemetery.
    Memorials are preferred.
Baucke Funeral Home directed the service.
