Put on that game face!

Come Friday and Saturday, Holyoke High School athletes will be putting on their game faces in earnest. In the meantime, HHS students are something of a sillier sight, dressing up in keeping with each day’s unique theme for homecoming week.
On America Monday, stars and stripes reigned supreme, but the occasional Statue of Liberty and bald eagle could be spotted as well. Twin Tuesday ranged from simple matching hairstyles and T-shirts to full chicken costumes and a set of colorful Play-Doh quintuplets.
Next up will be Way Back Wednesday, featuring outfits that harken back to decades past. On Thursday, freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors will wear their class colors for homecoming olympics, and on Friday, everyone will be decked out in green and gold for the afternoon parade and pep rally.
Viewers can expect to see the “Fuel the Fire” homecoming theme on full display in the parade, which will travel south down Interocean Avenue starting at 2 p.m. The pep rally will follow at City Park.
