    Enjoy the bounty of this Colorado growing season into the winter months by preparing for home preservation. The CSU Extension website and app Preserve Smart are mobile-friendly, easy-to-use resources for canning projects.
    The site can be found at https://apps.chhs.colostate.edu/preservesmart.
    Preserve Smart offers:
    1. Information for preserving a certain food item organized by fruit or vegetable type. This information includes all types of preservation, such as canning, pickling, drying and freezing.
    2. Information on preservation basics, including why elevation matters, choosing a preservation method and using the right equipment.
    3. A tool for proper high-altitude adjustment by entering the elevation of the user’s kitchen into the “elevation” box on the home screen. If the user is unaware of the elevation, geoplaner.com is available to identify your elevation according to your address.
